Barnette relinquishes charter for Land Mobile Radio

On January 9, the product lead for Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Patrick Barnette, relinquished his charter to the project manager for Defense Communications and Army Transmissions Systems (DCATS), Col. Enrique Costas.

The ceremony, which was hosted by DCATS and held on Fort Belvoir, Virginia, was well attended by industry representatives, senior leadership, military, civilians and contractors.

Barnette relinquished his charter to accept his new assignment as the PEO EIS Liaison Officer for the Network Cross Functional Team at the U.S. Army Futures Command.

During his remarks, Col. Costas expressed his gratitude for the work that Barnette performed as product lead and his confidence in Barnette's ability to equally excel within his new role.

Additionally, Col. Costas announced Ernest J. Wasikowski, Jr. as the acting product lead until a permanent leader could be assigned, asserting his belief in Wasikowski’s ability to excel within his newly assigned role.
