Jennifer Potts assumed the role of deputy project manager for Army Data and Analytics Platforms (formerly known as the Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program) at Fort Belvoir, Virginia in June 2019. In this role, she is responsible for helping oversee a portfolio of programs that provide the Army with modern data and decision-support tools and platforms, facilitating fact-based and resource-informed decision-making.

Potts previously served as the product support director for PEO EIS’s Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) project office. While at DCO, Potts was responsible for oversight of test and evaluation, acquisition reporting, strategic communications, public affairs, operations and lifecycle logistics management.

Prior to that assignment, she served as a deputy product director at PEO Aviation at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, where she supported a full spectrum of program management activities. This included a portfolio of 23 non-standard, rotary wing aircraft programs outside of the regular DOD inventory, totaling 11 airframes for 14 foreign military sales (FMS) partners, with a combined value exceeding $1.5 billion.

Potts previously served as an assistant product director at PEO Aviation and oversaw production, modification, sustainment and lifecycle support for FMS commercial helicopters. She was responsible for the depot maintenance activities for the Afghanistan Mi-17 fleet, overseeing facilities across Europe and the Middle East, and managing over $500 million in work and assets.

Prior to that, she served within the office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology as the deputy secretariat for the Army System Acquisition Review Council. There she served as a resident expert on the DOD acquisition process in support of Army programs, seeking acquisition decisions throughout all phases of the acquisition lifecycle.

Other civilian assignments within the Department of the Army included serving as an assistant product manager supporting a fleet of varied rotary wing aircraft, and as the team lead responsible for equipping the largest Army aviation fleet with fully integrated, condition-based monitoring systems. Additional roles of importance included serving as a program manager for industry-leading software development programs; acting as a subject matter expert for design and integration of the hardware systems on the Army’s fleet of rotary wing aircraft; and acting as a contractor logistics representative for the Apache helicopter.

Potts has 22 years of experience in supporting Army acquisition with a diverse background in program management, logistical and technical capacities. She has operated on aviation production lines in facilities worldwide and on flight lines of Army and international partners. She has also worked at the Pentagon and within the operational combat environment of Afghanistan and Iraq, and has served with 19 international partners and all of the DOD component services, as well as the special operations community and North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Potts holds certifications in program management, information technology, production quality management, engineering and life cycle logistics. She has been an Army Acquisition Corps member since 2011. Potts holds a bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautics and dual master’s degrees in aeronautical science and business administration, with a minor in technical management, from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
