Master Sgt. Nicholas L. Vinson
AIE Product Owner
Master Sgt. Nicholas “Nick” Vinson is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He enlisted as a military police officer in the Kentucky Army National Guard (ARNG) in October 2001 and attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Vinson was promoted to the rank of master sergeant on Jan. 30, 2023 and currently serves as the product owner for the Accessions Information Environment (AIE), representing the equities of over 25,000 users across the accession’s enterprise.
Prior to his current role, Vinson served as the enlisted mission product owner and recruiting functional lead for the Army National Guard in support of AIE. Vinson completed one combat tour to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and has nearly 20 years of active federal service.
His assignments included military police officer and military police investigator throughout multiple locations; Recruiting and Retention non-commissioned officer (NCO), Louisville, Kentucky; Recruiting and Retention section chief, Frankfort, Kentucky; Senior Recruit Sustainment Program NCO, Glasgow, Kentucky; Brigade Senior Operations NCO, Richmond, Kentucky; and Battle Staff NCO, Richmond, Kentucky.
Vinson’s military education includes the Military Police Course, Military Police Investigator Course, Air Assault, ARNG Recruiting and Retention NCO Course, Warrior Leader Course, 79T Conversion and Senior Leader Courses, and Master Leaders Course (Commandant’s List). Additionally, he is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Southern New Hampshire University.
His awards include the Meritorious Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Badge and the ARNG Expert Recruiting Badge with Director’s 54 device.
