In the midst of U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems’ (PEO EIS) Agile transformation last year, the head of the organization’s Acquisition Innovation Directorate (AID), Aric Sherwood, saw the need for better information sharing at the program level. 

U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems’ (PEO EIS) Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) product office held a virtual industry event Feb. 13 in collaboration with Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI) and the Army Information Systems Engineering Command.

A heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to my friend and boss, former PEO Mr. Ross Guckert, on his retirement after more than 34 years of service to our country.

“The Army’s Agile journey requires a mindset that is open to change,” said Billy McCain, product support manager for the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A) program portfolio. “I consider myself a change agent. Technology is constantly evolving, and we must be open to analyzing these emerging technologies to improve our cost, schedule or performance.”

Ross Guckert, program executive officer (PEO) for U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) since May 2020, passed the reins of leadership to incoming PEO William (Bill) Hepworth in a Jan. 19 change of charter ceremony at the Pentagon.

Happy New Year! This is my final Perspective as PEO, as I retire and leave PEO EIS in the most capable hands. I have a few words to leave you with — but first, some important information to share with you as we jump into 2024.

U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) officially shut down its Headquarters Army Environmental System (HQAES) product office Jan. 13, transferring the Army’s environmental program data to the Web Compliance Assessment and Sustainment System-Enterprise (WEBCASS-E) at the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-9. WEBCASS-E, a commercial off-the-shelf system used by the Army for over 20 years, will serve as the replacement program and the Army’s enterprise system of record for environmental data.
