Combat Service Support Very Small Aperture Terminal (CSS VSAT) is a mobile satellite dish to support existing U.S. Army sustainment information systems and the evolving Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A). GCSS-Army Increment 1 is an ERP solution that has innovated supply, maintenance, property accountability and associated financial management operations across the Army. GCSS-Army replaced over 40,000 antiquated, stove-piped tactical logistics and financial management systems with one integrated, web-based ERP solution. It leverages cutting-edge industry capabilities through its commercial-off-the-shelf software, SAP, which revolutionized the way the Army orchestrates tactical logistics and financial management. The logistics enterprise, with GCSS-Army as the tactical component, has propelled the Army toward its strategic goal of asset transparency, which permits the Army to rightsize unit supply levels.

Power Projection Enablers (P2E) is equipping U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) with enhanced IT and communication capabilities. In late September, P2E–Southwest Asia delivered and deployed mission command nodes (MCN) and technical control facilities in a box (TiB) to the CENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR).

LTG Paul Ostrowski, Principal Military Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) and Director of the Army Acquisition Corps, visited Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, and spent some time with the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) and the LMP Sustainment Division (LMPSD) teams.

Ms. Steffanie Easter, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, signed the Defense Readiness Reporting System – Army (DRRS-A) transition plan, which authorized the transfer from PEO Command, Control and Communications – Tactical to PEO EIS.
