Fresh off its participation in the AUSA Annual Meeting & Exhibition, PEO EIS is busily preparing for AFCEA Belvoir Industry Days, a virtual event from November 17-19 that brings together key members of the government with industry organizations from all over the United States.

The event — rescheduled from earlier this year and transformed into a virtual format — is PEO EIS’s signature annual event for engaging with stakeholders, especially industry partners.

“Anytime we can spend a little time with industry and talk through challenges and problems we’re both seeing, we have a better chance of solving those problems,” said Brendan Burke, deputy program executive officer (DPEO) at PEO EIS.

Besides featuring an online networking community and virtual exhibit hall with over 60 exhibitors, AFCEA Belvoir Industry Days includes three days of keynote presentations, panel sessions and breakout sessions.

To help kick off the event, DPEO Burke will hold a keynote presentation entitled “Wicked Challenges and Lessons Learned in a Data-First Environment,” which will highlight those topics, as well as the PEO’s recent organizational changes and key priorities.

Immediately following Burke’s presentation, Dan Joyce, assistant program executive officer (APEO) for the Business Mission Area (BMA), will moderate a panel with the three project managers from the BMA portfolio: Col. Rob Wolfe of Army Data and Analytics Platforms (ARDAP); Col. Don Burton of Defense Integrated Business Systems; and Col. Rob Williams of Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army. Then, John Howell, APEO for Networks, Cyber and Services, will moderate a panel on the Enterprise Information Environment Mission Area with leaders from his portfolio, including Aric Sherwood, acting project manager for Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems; Col. Mark Taylor, project manager for Defense Cyber Operations; and Lee James, product director for Enterprise Services.

PEO EIS leaders also will hold eight breakout sessions featuring program overviews and upcoming opportunities. The full agenda is available on AFCEA’s website.

Federal government workers can attend AFCEA Belvoir Industry Days at no charge, while AFCEA members receive a discount off the standard industry registration rate. Event registration closes November 11.
