The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI), Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, in accordance with the Army Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) office under Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), awarded a contract extension for Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – 3 Hardware (ITES-3H) on Nov. 23, 2021. The ITES-3H contract vehicle has been extended an additional 16 months, with a ceiling increase to $6.6 billion. Ordering is open to Army, DOD and other federal agencies.

The scope of ITES-3H includes the purchase and lease of commercial Unix-based servers, non-Unix-based servers, desktops, notebooks, workstations, thin clients, storage systems, networking equipment (including wireless), network printers, product ancillaries (including equipment cabinets, racks and mounts), peripherals (including monitors), network cabling products, video teleconferencing products, standalone displays (e.g., plasma screens, high-definition televisions), scanners, Everything over Internet Protocol products, communication devices, power devices, software provided as part of the end-to-end solution (including Enterprise Software Agreements (ESA), non-ESA, SmartBUY and non-SmartBUY), warranty variations and other related incidental services, accessories and options.

The contract extension applies to all 17 prime vendors currently on the ITES-3H contract.

The extension of the ordering period is intended to bridge the Army’s ability to purchase hardware until the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – 4 Hardware (ITES-4H) suite of contracts is awarded. ITES-4H is the follow-on to the ITES-3H contracts, which are the Army’s mandatory source for commercial-off-the-shelf IT hardware.

According to Wayne Sok, product lead for CHESS at PEO EIS, “The contract extension will enable CHESS to continue to support our customer's hardware needs as we continue to work the follow-on contract vehicle for future award.”
