Event Description:
In the heyday of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were an advanced persistent threat. The Army established a task force to identify IED bombers and networks to move from simply dealing with the aftermath of an IED attack to putting the bombers at risk. This was called moving to the left of Boom. In cybersecurity, many of us are still operating to the right of the cyber incident where we are waiting to react and clean up. Cyber adversaries are moving faster every day and penetrating networks, endpoints, clouds and more. It is imperative to move to the left of the Boom and gain overwatch on cyber adversaries. In this talk, CrowdStrike will share with the SOSSEC audience how we have helped customers move to the left of the Boom, get ahead of their adversaries and put the adversaries' networks and mechanisms on the defensive. We will discuss and share how to move from after the fact Incident response to dealing with adversaries and attack vectors continuously and effectively. CrowdStrike subject matter experts in incident response (IR), cyber threat intelligence, and recovery will cover recent IR actions and walk you through these incidents and how they can help you take and hold the high ground.
The two-hour session will include the overview and live instruction, and allow for questions and answers.
Who Should Attend?
Program managers, development teams, DoDIN-A analysts, DCO analysts, intel analysts, engineers, architects, security managers, security specialists and system administrators who are eager to learn about how you can leverage security validation to prove you can defend against today's and tomorrow’s threats. This event is intended to educate all professionals who are involved with cybersecurity network defense across people, policies and technologies.
The two-hour session will allow for questions and answers.
