Assistant Product Manager, Enterprise Business Systems – Convergence

Maj. Zane Williams serves as the assistant product manager (APM) for PEO EIS’s Enterprise Business Systems – Convergence (EBS-C) product office under Project Manager (PM), Army Data and Analytics Platforms (ARDAP). The EBS-C product office is charged with the creation of the acquisition strategy, as well as development and deployment, of the Army's modernized/converged enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The office supports the Army's Enterprise Business System Multi-Functional Capabilities Team (EBS-MFCT), a coalition established for planning and implementing the Army’s ERP modernization effort by 2027.

Williams most recently served as an assistant product manager for PEO EIS’s Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-A) cloud migration effort. Prior to joining the acquisition workforce, he served as the officer-in-charge at The Army School System (TASS) Training Center (TC) in Fort Lee, Virginia. This was a new position that Williams helped to define the scope of work and authority to operate under for the 94th Training Division and 80th Training Command. During this time, he opened and dedicated the new TC, and saw over 7,000 trainees complete the program.

Williams was board selected to be the commander of the 380th Engineer Company in Greenville, Mississippi in October 2015. During his tenure, he led his company through numerous field training events during drill weekends and oversaw the construction and improvement of roads during River Assault 2016. He stood up the 377th Utilities Detachment and successfully relocated the 380th to Greenville, Tennessee. Williams was selected to serve as an active guard reserve (AGR) officer and transitioned to the 659th Engineer Company located at Fairchild Air Force Base in September 2011. Upon arrival, he served as the senior AGR staff member for day-to-day operations, as a platoon leader and executive officer simultaneously. He held numerous additional duties, including unit victim advocate for the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program, additional duty safety officer, unit movement officer, anti-terrorism level II officer, and the unit training officer. While serving as a traditional reserve lieutenant, Williams worked as a field engineer for W.W. Clyde on road and bridge projects in Utah and Idaho. Prior to commissioning, he enlisted in the Idaho National Guard in December 2006 and completed the Senior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program at Brigham Young University (BYU) – Idaho.

He holds a master’s degree in geological engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and a bachelor's degree in construction management from BYU-Idaho. He has been a member of the Army acquisition workforce since 2019 and holds Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certifications in program management (Level I). He also earned certificates as a project management professional and the SAP Certified Application Associate - Business Process Integration with SAP S/4HANA 1709 certificate.

Williams’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Parachutist Badge and the Air Assault Badge.
