Who we are
Designed to modernize the Army network for multi-domain operations and to increase readiness, Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) involves the commercial delivery and management of protected IT services from the enterprise to the point of need on the Department of Defense Information Network-Army.
The EITaaS pilot program will demonstrate enhanced, industry-supplied capabilities to the Army enterprise system, reducing the burden on Soldiers to maintain the network enterprise infrastructure. Ultimately, EITaaS will improve IT availability, resiliency, security and affordability, while enhancing the user experience.
In 2019, three industry vendors were awarded other transaction agreements to conduct EITaaS pilot projects. The three current pilot sites are Army Futures Command headquarters in Austin, Texas; Fort Polk, Louisiana; and Camp Roberts in Monterey, California. Each site represents a different Army IT challenge given their vastly different size, component composition and existing network configurations. The pilot program spans through FY23 and will serve to inform Army leadership on what commercial best practices are available by using service providers to run the Army network.
PEO EIS is working closely with the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command, Army Cyber Command, the Army CIO and Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6 to determine what best practices the Army may adopt.
