Ebola Epidemic Response Efforts

The Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems is engaged in Ebola response efforts in support of U.S. AFRICOM in West Africa. To date:

  • The Product Director Defense-Wide Transmission Systems (DWTS) has provided one CSS VSAT terminal in support of the 7th Sustainment Brigade.
  • Product Manager Medical Communications for Combat casualty Care (MC4) is supporting the 86th Combat Support Hospital, the designated lead for the Medical Task Force, with MC4 systems to assist with preventive medicine, veterinary services, and area support.
  • Product Director Automated Movement and Identification Systems (AMIS) Radio Frequency In-Transit Visibility (RF-ITV) Field Service Engineers are currently on standby to support the Ebola response. The RF-ITV server is being heavily used to track shipments going into the region.
  • Product Director Army Human Resource Systems (AHRS)’ Deployed Theater Accountability System (DTAS) is providing personnel accountability system support for AFRICOM and Central Command (CENTCOM) efforts.
