On Nov. 23, Ms. Terry Watson was officially named the Acting Program Executive Officer for the Army’s Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS).

In a Change of Charter Ceremony at Fort Belvoir’s Wallace Theater, Ms. Watson stood alongside the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology the Honorable Heidi Shyu and former PEO EIS Mr. Douglas Wiltsie in a ceremony that marked the end of Mr. Wiltsie’ s four years of leadership.

PEO EIS enables information dominance by developing, acquiring, integrating and deploying information technology (IT) systems to meet the Army’s demands today while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow. The organization executes a budget of $2 billion and is comprised of 1,500 globally dispersed military, civilian and contractor staff.

“The next chapter in [PEO EIS] history is just as important as the previous,” said Ms. Shyu. “I can’t think of a better person to step in and lead this organization than Terry.”

Ms. Watson previously served as Acting PEO from May until October of 2011. On October 5, 2011, Mr. Wiltsie assumed command of the organization and Ms. Watson resumed her duties as Deputy PEO.

Prior to accepting the role of Acting PEO, Ms. Watson was selected for Senior Executive Service in December 2010 and assigned to the position of Deputy PEO for EIS. Throughout the years, she has held several positions from Director of PEO EIS Program Management Directorate to Deputy Project Manager for Tactical Management Information Systems.

“I look forward to supporting the vision and technology modernization efforts Ms. Watson will lead in the future,” said Acting Project Director for Enterprise Services Mr. Douglas Haskin. “In the three months since I’ve assumed the charter of Enterprise Services, I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Watson. She is committed to transitioning the Army from legacy IT to an enterprise service that enables communication anywhere, anytime and on any device for our nation’s Soldiers.”
