LTC Michael N. Parent

LTC Michael N. Parent assumed leadership of the U.S. Army’s Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) in June 2017. As the LMP Product Manager, he exercises centralized authority and control over one of the largest Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations in the U.S. Army and across the Army Materiel Command’s (AMC) national-level logistics environment.

LTC Parent was commissioned at the University of Vermont as an Armor Officer and attended the Armor Officers Basic Course at Fort Knox, Kentucky. His first assignment was with the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. After his success as a Tank Platoon Leader, LTC Parent attended the Quartermaster Transition Course at Fort Lee, Virginia and was reassigned to the 615th Aviation Support Battalion (ASB) in September 1999. LTC Parent deployed to Kuwait and Kosovo as the Supply and Service officer for U.S. Army Forces, Central Command (ARCENT) and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) from October 2000 to March 2002. Upon completion of this assignment, he was assigned to Fort Jackson, South Carolina in January 2003 where he completed command of a Basic Combat Training Company.

In 2005, LTC Parent joined the Acquisition Corps and was assigned to Fort Bliss, Texas as a Project Officer for the Air Defense Directorate of Combat Development. During this assignment, LTC Parent deployed to Iraq from November 2006 to November 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his tour in Iraq, he attended the University of Texas, Arlington before serving with Program Executive Office Combat Support and Service Support, Warren, Michigan, as an Assistant Product Manager for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (MRAP) program. He later served at the Pentagon as the Department of the Army Systems Coordinator for MRAP and then as the Executive Officer for the Assistant Military Deputy, Assistant Secretary of the Army, Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology. LTC Parent’s last assignment was with the Defense Logistics Agency as the Project Lead for Defense Continuity Modernization.

He is a 1997 graduate of Saint Michael’s College, Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He completed his Master’s degree in Operations Management from the University of Texas, Arlington in 2009 where he also participated in the ‘Training with Industry’ program at Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control. He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps with a Level III certification in Program Management.

LTC Parent’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Distinguished Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, and the Parachute Badge.
