COL Michael E. Sloane

COL Michael E. Sloane became the Assistant Program Executive Officer Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) in December 2016. His responsibilities include the efficient migration of Army level Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERPS) IAW OSD and Army policies to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Enterprise Computing Center as part of the Army enclave. Prior to his position as Assistant PEO, COL Sloane served as the Chief of Staff to the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology).

COL Sloane was commissioned as an Army officer after earning a BBA from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. He earned an MBA from Webster University while attending the Command and General Staff College (CGSC). In 2012, he graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) with a Master of Science in national resource strategy and completed the Senior Acquistion Course.

COL Sloane has had operational assignments as a platoon leader and company executive officer while serving four years in the 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized). In the 24th ID, deployed for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, to Honduras for Joint Task Force 105 and to support Hurricane Andrew relief operations. His career includes a break in active duty service from 1993 to 1997 during which he worked in corporate industry and started a business.

Upon recall to active duty in 1997, COL Sloane’s military duties commenced with three years in the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) serving as the division support command S4 and as commander, Bravo Company, 210th Forward Support Battalion. While in the 10th Mountain Division, he deployed to the Balkans with the NATO-led multinational peacekeeping force, Stabilization Force 6.

In 2000, COL Sloane was assigned to Army Human Resources Command to serve as the future readiness officer and assignment officer. In 2003, following CGSC, he was assigned to the Missile Defense Agency’s Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) System Project Office as the assistant product manager for Missile Development and later as assistant product manager for THAAD System Test and Evaluation. In 2006, he was assigned to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 as the lead personnel policy integrator for the Acquisition, Chaplain and Judge Advocate General Corps. From 2008 to 2011, COL Sloane served in PEO Soldier as the product manager for Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment then as the project manager for Soldier Sensors and Lasers in 2012.

COL Sloane’s awards and decorations include Legion of Merits, Defense Meritorious Service Medals, Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (with three Bronze Service Stars), Global War on Terrorism/Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medals, the NATO Badge, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Liberation Medals, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge and the Ranger Tab.
